Kintsura respects the personal and often sensitive nature of the information people may share while using our website, coaching services, membership portal, reflective tools, and community spaces.
This Privacy Policy explains how Elizabeth Lauren Bucher, doing business as Kintsura, an Oregon sole proprietor (“Kintsura,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information through [Website URL], the Kintsura membership portal, and related services.

If we want to use an identifiable personal story, testimonial, quotation, or reflection for another purpose, we will request separate permission.
4. Sensitive and Mental Health-Related Information
Some information you choose to provide may be considered sensitive personal information or consumer health data under applicable law.
Kintsura collects this information only when you choose to provide it or when it is reasonably necessary to deliver a feature you request.
We use sensitive information to:
- Save and display your private entries;
- Deliver coaching or reflective tools you request;
- Provide accommodations or support;

We do not sell sensitive personal information.
We do not use private mental health-related information to create advertising profiles or target advertisements.
Where applicable law requires consent before sensitive information is collected or processed, we will request that consent through an appropriate notice or affirmative action.
5. Kintsura Is Not a HIPAA-Covered Medical Provider
Kintsura provides coaching, mindfulness, meditation, education, and personal-development services. Kintsura does not provide psychotherapy, medical treatment, diagnosis, or other licensed healthcare services.
Kintsura is generally not a “covered entity” under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, commonly known as HIPAA. Information submitted to the portal should not be assumed to receive the same legal protections as medical records maintained by a physician, therapist, hospital, or health insurer.
This does not mean we treat your information casually. We use reasonable privacy and security measures and restrict the purposes for which sensitive information may be used.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Kintsura and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies.
These technologies may be used for:
- Keeping you signed in;
- Remembering preferences;
- Processing membership sessions;
- Maintaining security;
- Operating checkout functionality;
- Saving portal activity;
- Measuring website performance;
- Understanding general usage patterns; and
- Supporting embedded third-party features.
Essential cookies
Some cookies are necessary for account login, security, membership access, payment processing, and other requested functionality. Disabling these cookies may prevent parts of the website or portal from working.
Analytics cookies
We may use [Analytics Provider, if any] to understand general website traffic and improve the service. Analytics tools may collect information such as device type, pages visited, approximate location, and referral source.
Advertising cookies
Kintsura does not currently use private journal, worksheet, or coaching information for targeted advertising.
If we introduce advertising or nonessential tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or consent mechanism required by law.
You may be able to control cookies through your browser or through a cookie-preference tool displayed on the website.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your private journal entries, worksheet responses, coaching information, or other personal information.
We may share limited information in the following circumstances.

These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for Kintsura or as otherwise described in their own applicable terms.
B. Community participants
Information you voluntarily post in a community space or share during a group session may be visible to other authorized participants.
Private journal entries and worksheet responses are not intentionally shared with other members.
C. Legal and safety reasons
We may preserve or disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law, a court order, subpoena, or other valid legal process;
- Enforce our agreements or investigate suspected violations;
- Detect or respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- Protect the rights, property, or security of Kintsura or another person; or
- Respond to a credible and serious threat to someone’s safety.
Kintsura is not an emergency service and does not continuously monitor entries, messages, or community activity for signs of crisis.
D. Business changes
If Kintsura is reorganized, sold, merged, or transferred, personal information may be disclosed as part of evaluating or completing that transaction.
Any successor would be expected to handle personal information consistently with this Policy unless you are provided notice of a material change.
E. With your direction or consent
We may share information when you ask us to do so or provide permission for a particular disclosure.
8. Data About Live Sessions
Live coaching, meditation, or community sessions will not be recorded by Kintsura unless participants receive advance notice.
If a session will be recorded, we will explain:
- What will be captured;
- Why it is being recorded;
- Who will have access;
- How long the recording is expected to be retained; and
- Whether participation without appearing in the recording is possible.
Participants are prohibited from recording sessions without prior permission from Kintsura and all affected participants.
Information voluntarily shared during a group session can be heard by other attendees. Although participants are expected to respect one another’s privacy, Kintsura cannot guarantee that another participant will maintain confidentiality.
9. Email and Marketing Choices
We may send administrative messages concerning:
- Your account;
- Membership renewals;
- Purchases or refunds;
- Security;
- Changes to services or policies;
- Scheduled sessions; and
- Responses to your requests.
These service-related messages are not promotional, and you may not be able to opt out while maintaining an active account.
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us at [Privacy Email Address]. Unsubscribing from promotional email does not cancel a paid membership.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing services, maintaining business and tax records, resolving disputes, protecting security, and meeting legal obligations.
Retention periods may vary by information type:
- Account information: Generally retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward.
- Journal and worksheet entries: Generally retained while your account remains active or until you delete them, where deletion functionality is available.
- Transaction records: Retained as necessary for accounting, tax, payment, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes.
- Coaching and program records: Retained for the period reasonably needed to administer the service and address legal or professional obligations.
- Community and moderation records: Retained as needed to operate the community, investigate reported conduct, and protect members.
- Technical logs and analytics: Retained according to security needs and the settings of the applicable service provider.
- Backups: Deleted information may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten through the ordinary backup cycle.
When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete it, de-identify it, or aggregate it so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to you.
Before publishing this Policy, Kintsura will document more specific internal retention periods for private entries, account backups, coaching records, and inactive accounts.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.
These measures may include:
- Secure account authentication;
- Encryption during transmission;
- Restricted administrative access;
- Software and plugin updates;
- Backups;
- Security monitoring;
- Use of established payment processors; and
- Measures intended to prevent unauthorized access.
No website, database, email system, or online transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, lost, altered, or disclosed without authorization.
You are responsible for using a strong, unique password, keeping your credentials private, and signing out when using a shared device.
If we learn of a data breach, we will investigate and provide legally required notices to affected individuals and government authorities.
12. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have the right to request that we:
- Confirm whether we process your personal information;

You may authorize another person to submit a request where applicable law permits. We may require proof of that authorization and verification of your identity.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing liz@mylifeinbalance.co with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.”
Some information may be exempt from deletion or access requirements, including information we must retain for legal, tax, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
13. Universal Opt-Out Signals
Where required by applicable law, we will recognize browser-based universal opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for processing covered by those signals.
Because Kintsura does not currently sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, an opt-out signal may not materially change your experience.
14. De-Identified and Aggregated Information
We may create statistics or aggregated information about how people use Kintsura, such as the number of members who use a particular resource or general patterns of feature use.
We will take reasonable measures intended to prevent de-identified information from being associated with a particular person and will not attempt to re-identify it except when necessary to test whether de-identification methods are effective or as otherwise permitted by law.
We will not publish summaries of private entries in a way that identifies individual members.
15. Children’s Privacy
Kintsura’s membership services are intended only for adults age 18 or older.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the membership portal. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account or submitted personal information, contact us at [Privacy Email Address] so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

If you access the services from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
This Policy does not represent that Kintsura’s services are designed to satisfy every privacy or professional-services requirement outside the United States.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the portal, business practices, service providers, or legal requirements.
The revised Policy will be posted with a new “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use sensitive personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
